During September, October, and November 2010, there were zero faculty moves reported on this blog. During the same time period in 2009, there were four such moves reported. During the same time period in 2008, there were six such moves. During the same time period in 2007, there were eight such moves noted. Obviously, fall is never the busy season for lateral moves to become official, but the trend does seem clear, even allowing for the small sample size.
