In Memoriam: Theodore Eisenberg (1947-2014)
I am sorry to report the startling and unhappy news that Professor Eisenberg, a longtime member of the Cornell faculty and a pioneer in "empirical legal studies," has passed away. The Cornell memorial notice is here.

Some members of the Philosophy Department are not happy about it.

I succumb…
…I'm on Twitter, for the time being, and after much urging. I'm not sure how much use I'll make of it. Advice welcome.

“It’s tragic and embarrassing”

Law firm hiring, the latest NALP report for fall 2013

Harvard’s own survey of employers about what classes students should take
Here. Unsurprisingly, "experiential" learning of the kind a minority is trying to force upon everyone does not loom large. UPDATE: Blog Emperor Caron breaks out charts showing the results.

First there was the sensationalistic UK tabloid “The Daily Mail”…
…and now there is "The Philosopher's Mail." (Thanks to Rob Tempio for the pointer.)

A new open access journal: “Science, Religion & Culture”
Here. A timely topic, as readers of this blog will know, and an impressive editorial board (which is why I was honored to be asked to join).
