Agreed with the other commentator. It is extremely unlikely that Pangram’s success is due to its cheating by reading metadata.

Philosophers who turned (or will turn) 70 or 75 since 2015 (looking towards 2017)

MOVING TO FRONT FROM JANUARY 6–UPDATED

The faculty lists used for the 2014 PGR surveys noted faculty who were going to be 70 (marked with an *) or 75 (marked with #) in 2015, since age of faculty is a relevant consideration for prospective students.   While many faculty increasingly keep working after age 70, fewer go much beyond 75.  In keeping with the attempts to update the PGR for prospective students for 2016-17, what follows is a list of faculty in U.S. department who turned 70 or 75 last year, or will reach that age milestone this year (2017).  (A couple of cases of philosophers turning 70 were missed in the 2014 faculty lists, so they are also included here).  I have omitted faculty, of course, who have retired since the 2014 surveys.  Please e-mail me with any correction or additions.
