from U.S. hedge fund manager Stephen Schwarzman (who could have afforded to give a lot more!).  It will also include a new institute for the study of the ethics of artificial intelligence.  Philosopher Alan Thomas (York) summed it up well on FB (he gave me permission to quote):  "The 'ethics of AI' is about as complex as the ethics of pencils. ('Don’t stab people with your pencil!') But, you know, follow the money."

ADDENDUM:  It's a bit unclear where all the money is going–it sounds like most of it is going to a new building which will finally permit Timothy Williamson to interact easily with his colleagues in literary studies and religion!
