“From a Realist Point of View”: coming in March

That’s Thucydides on the cover!

Readers will know some of the distinguished scholars kindly endorsing the book, but may not know the first two: Michel Troper is the preeminent French legal realist, who also introduced legal philosophy to French legal education in the 1970s (and was, I learned, a visiting professor here at Chicago a quarter-century ago, teaching comparative constitutional law with the late great David Currie). Riccardo Guastini is the leading Italian legal realist, whose work is well-known (and translated) throughout the Latin world, although he is less-known than he should be in the Anglophone world. (Serious jurisprudential interest in legal realism is very common outside the Anglophone world, although the situation in English-speaking legal philosophy is better now than it was thirty years ago.)
