Coming soon in “most cited” philosophers with Google Scholar pages

I am going to do a list of philosophers who have not fit neatly into any of the prior lists who nonetheless have large numbers of citations (e.g., Michael Bratman, Edouard Machery, Shaun Nichols among others). Historians of philosophy tend not to have Google Scholar pages it turns out. I welcome suggestions for other sub-fields where there are a lot of living philosophers with Google Scholar pages, so that a top 10 or top 20 list might make sense.

A couple of readers asked about legal philosophy, since a number of those folks, including yours truly, do have such pages. Unfortunately, there are a number of obstacles. Are a majority of my citations to legal philosophy, rather than to work on Nietzsche and other philosophical topics? Probably, but I’m not sure. My friend Scott Shapiro should be in the top five, but his Google Scholar page doesn’t include his 2011 book Legality, which would boost his citation count substantially. (It appears Google Scholar, and many other pages, confuse it with a book by a doctor, Jacob Shapiro!) Brian Bix is a highly cited legal philosopher, but on Google Scholar, half his citations are really to Jerome Frank’s Law and the Modern Mind, for which he wrote an introduction to one edition (almost all the cites are to Frank’s book, not Bix’s introduction). And legal philosophy, alas, is a low citation field overall, so numbers would drop off very quickly after the top five.
