Free Speech is a Great Idea…

…in theory. Details here:

“A Texas couple wearing anti-Bush t-shirts was handcuffed and removed from a Fourth of July Bush-Cheney campaign rally in Charleston, West Virginia.

“The Bush speech, given after the two, Nicole and Jeff Rank, were arrested, included a proclamation that ‘on this Fourth of July, we confirm our love of freedom, the freedom for people to speak their minds, the freedom for people to worship as they so choose.’ The president added, ‘Free thought, free expression, that’s what we believe.’

“According to radio news program Democracy Now!, police approached the Ranks and asked them to move from the rally area to a protest zone, an order they refused as both had tickets to the event. The two were then handcuffed and charged with trespassing.”
