PGR Faculty Quality Surveys to Begin Tomorrow

Tomorrow morning, around 10 am Central Time in the U.S. (so 4 pm in London, 11 am in New York and Toronto, 8 am in California, etc.), more than 450 philosophers nominated by the Advisory Board will receive e-mail invitations to participate in the 2004-06 PGR surveys. The surveys are time-consuming to complete, but the results are of great value to prospective students and to members of the profession. And this year, we will survey more philosophers than ever before, and give them the opportunity to evaluate not only overall faculty quality, but quality in some 30 different specialized areas of study.

The survey will run from September 16 through October 7. The new PGR will be published not later than mid-November, and perhaps by late October.
