Philosophers Antony, Levine from Ohio State to U Mass/Amherst

Louise Antony (philosophy of language, mind, and cognitive science; feminist philosophy) and Joseph Levine (philosophy of mind), both Professors at Ohio State University, have accepted the senior offers from the University of Massachussetts, Amherst, to start in fall 2006.  That’s a major set of appointments for U Mass, which complement existing strengths, and which will almost certainly push the overall program in to the top 25, perhaps the top 20, in the U.S.
