Friday Poem: “No Hope”

No Hope

I am a long way
From making good poems
As I draw a bit closer
I feel further away
As I become more certain
I experience great doubt
As I grasp what I must do
My hands lose their strength
As I learn I grow foolish
As I succeed I wallow in defeat

There is no question
That I am making progress
For I am convinced
That there is no hope
