…and without necessarily spending a fortune.  If you want to spend a bit more,Lattanzi, is a good Italian restaurant on restaurant row just about two blocks from the Marriott.  There's more information on restaurant row restaurants (which, again, are fairly close to the conference hotel) here.

UPDATE:  Wesley Buckwalter, a grad student at CUNY, writes with another recommendation:  "There is this place BXL Belgian Cafe, with great food, beer, and prices on 43rd right off 6th.  I'm not sure at all how a spot this nice exists so close to times square, but it does."
