Michigan Makes Offer to Evans at NYU, and Launches New Program in Ancient Philosophy–SEE UPDATE

MOVING TO FRONT FROM DECEMBER 7, 2010:  SEE UPDATE

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor has made a tenured offer to Matt Evans (ancient philosophy, ethics, philosophy of mind), currently Assistant Professor of Philosophy at New York University.  In addition, Michigan has launched a new Program in Ancient Philosophy, jointly with the outstanding Classics Department at Michigan.  Students interested in studying ancient Greek and Roman philosophy will want to check out the new program, and keep an eye on the Evans offer.

UPDATE:  Evans has accepted the offer.
