Berkeley Law Professor Goodwin Liu's nomination to the California Supreme Court was confirmed yesterday by a three member Commission on Judicial Appointments. Liu, a Rhodes Scholar and former Ginsburg clerk, joined the Berkeley faculty in 2003. His nomination to the Ninth Circuit by President Obama was blocked by Republicans and he withdrew in late May of this year.
