The U.S. Overall “Top Ten” for 2011

Friday's post about the big "movers" generated enough queries about the shape of the U.S. top ten that I might as well post those results here (with the mean score in parentheses after the school name):

1.  New York University (4.8)

2.  Rutgers University, New Brunswick (4.5)

3.  Princeton University (4.4)

4.  University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (4.3)

5.  Harvard University (4.1)

5.  University of Pittsburgh (4.1)

7.  Massachussetts Institute of Technology (4.0)

7.  Yale University (4.0)

9.  Stanford University (3.9)

9.  University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (3.9)

Oxford was #1 in the U.K., by a wide margin, and #2 internationally, with a mean of 4.7.
