Jim Pryor (epistemology, philosophy of language), Professor of Philosophy at New York University, has accepted a senior offer from the Department of Philosophy at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  That caps a big hiring year for UNC, including Tom Dougherty from Cambridge, and Jennifer Morton from City College/CUNY.  These additions, given some recent losses, should be more than sufficient to keep UNC at least in the overall top 15 in the U.S.
