Given that wokeness seems to correlate positively with youth, this could bode very ill for the organization, which already has a serious identity-politics problem. I very much hope I'm wrong about that.
One possibility–remote, I think/hope–is that graduate students may feel compelled to vote in a certain way to impress people who have power over their career prospects. But, then again, that same possibility probably applies to tenured and tenure-track professors too!
Since graduate students have an important stake in philosophy as a profession, they should have a say in the direction of the APA.
