“Super Tuesday” post-mortem

Biden is back.   Massive African-American support throughout the South was crucial, but he also did well with the "suburban women" demographic (take a look at Virginia, where Sanders was crushed by Biden) and working class voters.   Biden may have enough delgates to get the nomination without the intervention of super delegates.   One can only hope that the early stages of his dementia don't become even more apparent in the coming months.

The massive media campaign against Sanders, led by the New York Times, had its desired effect.  But apart from that, Sanders really still hasn't made sufficient inroads with African-American voters, despite his popularity with Hispanic voters.

Liz Warren came in third in Massachusetts!   She'll win a few delegates, but at this point she is only in the race to exert influence on Biden and/or Sanders (probably the former).  (On Warren, this is apt and amusing.  I will note she has the most annoying campaign operation:  between endless e-mails [a half-dozen or more every day, all in my spam folder] and texts, her campaign is an obnoxious pest, unlike the Sanders campaign to which I also donated.)

The best news is that you can't buy the Democratic nomination:   although Bloomberg outperformed Warren, he trailed Biden and Sanders almost everywhere.   He will drop out and devote his fortune to supporting Biden and lambasting Trump.

And once again, all the polls were useless!  None forecast the Biden blowout on Super Tuesday, and all of them overestimated Bloomberg's performance.
