And now the Education Department gets involved, not because they give a damn about academic freedom, but because the professor whose rights were violated is opposed to affirmative action. But Pittsburgh did not handle this well at all. (Administrative positions, however, are not protected by academic freedom, but I'm not entirely sure whether that's all that was involved here.)
