The instinctive striving for “herd-organization”

The photo below reminded me of this observation of Nietzsche's (On the Genealogy of Morality III:18):  "Out of a longing to shake off the dull listlessness and the feeling of weakness, all the sick, the diseased strive instinctively for herd-organization…."
