Herbert Morris is one of my favorite philosophers. His work is so perceptive and rich that I find myself returning to it over and over again. I had a chance to meet him (online) in 2020 when I was part of a very small reading group that had been reading and discussing his papers. We invited him to join us for one of our meetings and he agreed. He was lively and generous and spoke with us for a couple of hours. At one point during the session, he said, with a smile, “I hadn’t read these papers in years…. Reading through them again, I couldn’t help but think, ‘Hey, this is actually pretty good!’”
