Mayo Clinic disciplines doctor and professor for expressing “incorrect” views about transgender issues

The Academic Freedom Alliance correctly criticizes Mayo, and has provided a lawyer to vindicate the doctor's rights.  What an embarrassment for an otherwise reputable institution.  The fact that 'Republicans are currently running a vicious campaign of harassment against transgender people is no justification for abridging a medical professional's legal right to express his professional judgment.  (The comments at issue by Dr. Joyner are utterly banal, and clearly correct, which makes this even more bizarre.  Mayo deserves to lose "big time.")
