Katja Thieme gets her moment of Internet fame

In a charitable spirit, I once described Professor Thieme–an Associate Professor of Teaching in the English Department at the University of British Columbia–as "rabid and deranged," and people like that inevitably become Internet famous at some moment given their lack of self-control.   Professor Thieme's moment has arrived, in a predictable context no less.  She also had the misfortune to make The Daily Mail.  Needless to say, her remarks provide no basis for her university to sanction her, even under Canadian law as I understand it.
