Most Black Americans want to increase police presence and spending on police

Striking findings, but consistent with the complete lack of political support, including among Black politicans, for the "abolish the police" nonsense of recent years.  The idea that a country awash in guns and extreme economic inequality could afford to do away with the police is quite remarkable.  For a very different perspective, see this essay by a legal philosopher and scholar at Harvard.
