Annals of incompetence: a reminder

The two strongest criminal cases against Donald Trump–for election interference in Georgia, and for unlawfully retaining classified documents–were both botched:  the Georgia case because the local prosecutor, Fani Willis, decided to put her unqualified boyfriend into a key role in the case; and the latter, because Merrick Garland moved too slow.  If the former had been handled professionally, Trump would be in a Georgia jail cell, rather than the White House.  If the latter had been pursued promptly, there would have been a conviction, although it might not have sufficed to keep him out of the White House.  Missed opportunities are bitter at this point, but those responsible should not be forgotten.
