Elaine Shoben, Edward W. Cleary Professor of Law at the University of Illinois College of Law and an expert in employment discrimination law, has accepted an endowed chair at the still relatively new William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Nevada has really done better than any law school established in the last decade in attracting well-known faculty, and even debuted in the “top 100” in U.S. News (though not, needless to say, because of faculty quality, though that probably would have been a just result on those grounds alone). Among their successes: the recruitment of Lynne Henderson and Bruce Markell from Indiana University, Bloomington; Robert Lawless from the University of Missouri, Columbia; and Jeffrey Stempel from Florida State University, among others.
