Dan Froomkin is back from paternity leave, and his latest White House Briefing–"Another Shot at the Safety Net"–features a heads-up on Bush’s state-of-the-union address. Bush will plump for "Health Savings Accounts"–a catchy name for tax cuts for the healthy and wealthy. Bold thinking, coming as it does, so hard on the heels of "Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage," the botched and misbranded giveway to the pharmaceutical lobby. But be warned that The Washington Post is nervous about Froomkin being mistaken for a "real" Post reporter: the "Froomkin Foofaraw" detailed at PressThink bolsters Jessica Wilson’s case that the Press is now looking over its collective shoulder to a degree not seen since the McCarthy era.
