One Way to Support the Wisconsin Protesters

Anita Bernstein, a legal scholar at Brooklyn Law School (and regular reader of this blog), writes:

As you know, there’s tons of info online about how to donate food and other supplies to support the protest.  I e-mailed a WI colleague to ask what he’d recommend.  He said he could personally vouch for Ian’s Pizza, but they seemed kind of overwhelmed as of a week ago.

So I looked around myself and settled on the Willy Street Co-Op.  Very easy to call with a credit card and make a donation.  They were happy to hear from me and record the gift.  I see they’ve systematized their donations now; my call last Tuesday must have been at the beginning of a wave.  For donors, I think this store is the way to go, for now.  They can modify what they deliver in response to needs.  My WI contact says they’re a fine grassroots business.  I mention my experience in case you or your readers are interested in sending some money that way.
