MIT Philosophy now requiring the GRE

See here.  They had been largely alone among leading PhD programs in not requiring it, though I gather many students submitted it anyway (unsurprisingly, given that peer programs did require it).  I would guess that, like most major programs, the GRE will function more as a floor than a positive factor in favor of admission.
