Whiting from Toronto to Pitt

Jennifer Whiting, a leading scholar of ancient philosophy at the University of Toronto, has accepted the senior offer from the Department of Philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh, where she will start effective January 1, 2015.  Toronto will continue to be a strong choice in ancient philosophy, but this hire, had it taken place prior to the surveys, would have pushed Pittsburgh at least into the 'top ten' for ancient (Pitt was just outside the top ten without Whiting).
