Things don’t look good for the CEU in Budapest

Philosopher Katalin Balog (Rutgers) kindly flagged this piece, which she describes as a "highly detailed, and alas, realistic assessment of the CEU situation."  From the article's conclusion:

If the CEU moves—already there is talk of Vienna and Prague as alternative locations—it will be to the shame of all those who believe in liberal democratic ideals. For the first time in Europe since World War II, a university will have been closed for political reasons.
