The New York Review of Each Other’s Books had gotten better under Ian Buruma…

…after the death of the awful Robert Silvers, so I'm rather sorry to learn that he's been canned for one questionable editorial decision.  I read the piece in question–it was certainly self-serving, but it was also interesting to hear from a serial miscreant.  But for the first time in awhile, under Buruma, the NYRB had more intellectually diverse contributors, and was less a "friends of Silvers" affair.
