South Korea has drive-through coronavirus testing…

why doesn't the U.S.?  From what I'm reading, it seems clear that the virus is already widespread in certain communities, but because the CDC has been so hopelessly incompetent at testing, we don't know how widespread or where.   The Johns Hopkins COVID-19 tracker is a useful resource; I expect that now that testing is becoming more widespread that the U.S. numbers will jump into the hundreds over the next week, just as happend in Italy.

UPDATE:  Japan is also clearly undercounting, and no doubt on purpose:  they are supposed to host the summer olympics.

ANOTHER:  Thanks to the CDC decision to only test those with China connections, it looks like the virus has been circulating in the state of Washington for at least six weeks, undetected (according to a University of Washington researcher).
