Let me confirm that it is indeed well-informed.
Incidentally, as regards the "article published in a Russian military newspaper" – the one which "identifies many of the problems, political as well as military, that the Russians have encountered in a full-on onslaught against Ukraine": I suggest that it –
(a) is well worth a quick read, even in machine-translation
(b) may make readers wonder about the status of a "debate" in a "Russian military newspaper" – do they really allow such things? Well, yes they do, and have done for a long time.
And very candid they can be, too. Even at the height of the Cold War, some bitter debates on very sensitive military-doctrinal topics were conducted in public – sometimes involving very senior officers, even using their proper names. Unsurprisingly, there's something of a code deployed for disagreeing respectfully with the status quo … but stay within the code, and it's remarkable the extent to which people feel able to voice and debate contrarian opinions. Like this one, indeed!
