Draft Faculty Lists for Fall 2006 PGR: August 18 Version

MOVING TO FRONT FROM AUGUST 14:  Last call to update faculty lists for 2006 survey!

I’m uploading a new version, and creating a new comments section (no anonymous posts–and post your corrections here, please don’t e-mail me, unless it is a confidential matter), of the draft faculty lists for the fall 2006 PGR surveys:  Download pgr_faculty_lists_for_2006_final.rtf

Please read the intro material carefully.

The Advisory Board voted against adding any additional departments to the lists for evaluation.

Post corrections in the comments section below.  Only those with first-hand knowledge should post corrections.

This the final opportunity to update the faculty lists, which must be finalized by September 1. 

The fall surveys will commence on Monday, September 18, and run for three weeks.  The 2006-08 PGR should be published and on-line by early November.

    A few small corrections to the Berkeley list: Prof. Roush's first name is 'Sherrilyn', not 'Sherrilynn'. G. R. F. (John) Ferrari's surname is also misspelled (it's 'Ferrari', not 'Ferrarri'). And Jodi Halpern should be added to the list of affiliated faculty. See http://philosophy.berkeley.edu/people/faculty.html

    Professor Craige Roberts (Ohio State, Linguistics, url: http://www.ling.ohio-state.edu/~croberts/) has long been a de facto affiliated faculty member in the Ohio State Philosophy Department. She has been very involved in departmental life in both official and unofficial capacities, including serving on our graduate exams and on dissertation committees. At our departmental meeting of September 18, the Department will vote to officially recognize this affiliation. This is a mere formality since the vast majority of our Department has already expressed support for this recognition in an e-mail poll earlier this summer.

    Brian,

    I don't think the listing makes clear the actual circusmtanecs re Hawthorne. He will be here full-time in the spring of 06-07 and full-time in the spring of 07-08 and 1/4 time after that. The way this now looks, it conveys the unavoidable impression that he won't be here at all in 07-08 because he isn't listed as 1/2 time in 07-08.

    Could you make the parenthetical remark this: "06-08 1/2 time, 08 and beyond, 1/4 time)" ?

    Or some such thing. It is really important, I think, that prospective students know that he will be here 1/2 time in 07-08 and 1/4 time after that.

    I wonder if you could add Kevin Hart and Felicitas Munzel to the list of affiliated faculty at Notre Dame. Both are faculty of other departments involved in the teaching and advising of our doctoral students. Hart's involvement has been especially heavy.

    "Graciella De Pierris" should be "Graciela De Pierris"
    "Johann van Benthem" should be "Johan van Benthem"

    "Denis Philips" should be "Denis Phillips"
